Stock intercoolers work well on a standard N54 engine. When the boost is upped, the heat also increases. To overcome this, Active Autowerke’s intercooler stands tall and way up front, catching more air with the help of an 88% larger core and a specially designed shroud. Tests have shown air temperature drops close to 30° F in the intake manifold. The result is a gain of 12 rear wheel HP despite the fact ambient temperatures in the shop where a scorching 92°F during the dynorun.
